Following a competitive tender process a number of single supplier agreements have now been awarded for branded laboratory consumables. The Science Purchasing Group recommended this single supplier approach as part of its work with the Purchasing Department to achieve the best prices for commonly available branded products.
Cytiva consumables and branded laboratory glassware are now only available through VWR's catalogue on iProcurement. Branded plasticware and Thermo consumables are only available to purchase through the Fisher Scientific catalogue on iProcurement and Corning branded consumables via the SLS catalogue.
This working group is advising on the expansion of single supplier sourcing for science consumables.
